Veronika Lemeire is a doctoral researcher at the School of Social Sciences of Hasselt University (Belgium). She previously worked as a gender policy officer at a Belgian trade union. She holds a master in Gender and Diversity and a master in Geography (Ghent University, Belgium). Her doctoral research focuses on the gender equality potential of social dialogue and the role of the social partners in the gendered transformation of Belgian labour market institutions since the post-WWII period. In 2021, she published her first co-authored paper entitled ‘Beyond methodological nationalism in explanations of gender equality: The impact of EU policies on gender provisions in national collective agreements in Belgium (1957–2020)’ in the European Journal of Industrial Relations. She recently obtained a FWO Special PhD fellowship to finish her doctoral dissertation during the coming year (1 October 2022 – 30 September 2023).
