Patrizia Zanoni

About

Patrizia Zanoni is Full Professor at the School of Social Sciences of Hasselt University (Belgium) and Chair in Organisation Studies at the Utrecht School of Governance of Utrecht University (The Netherlands). Drawing on critical traditions such as feminist marxism and critical discourse analysis, her research investigates the relation between social identities, capitalism and inequality. She is particularly interested in how digital technologies are changing social categorization processes and the valuation of work and workers and in attempts to organize livelihoods outside capitalism, for instance through commons and cooperatives. Patrizia is currently the PI for Hasselt University in INSPIRE, the Centre of Excellence on Intersectional Gender Equality Plans (HorizonEurope project 2022-2026). She is also the lead PI of the Humans in Digital Logistics ERA-NET Chance project (2022-2025). Her work has appeared in Organization, Organization Studies, Work, Employment & Society, Organization Theory, Journal of Management Studies, Human Relations, Gender, Work & Organization, International Journal of Human Resource Management, Organizational Research Methods, European Journal of Industrial Relations, British Journal of Sociology of Education, British Educational Research Journal, and Sociologia del Lavoro. She is currently co-Editor-in-Chief of Organization and member of the editorial boards of Management Learning and British Journal of Management. She is a member of the Dutch State Commission Against Racism and Discrimination (2022-2026). In 2022 she received an Emma Goldman Award for her work on inequality.
