About

Lise Rolandsen Agustín is Associate Professor at the Department of Politics and Society, Aalborg University, Denmark. Her research focuses on EU gender equality policies and policy-making processes; sexism, gender-based violence, and sexual harassment; social movements and transnational activism; as well as diversity and intersectionality in feminist institutionalization and mobilization. She is the author of Sexual Harassment in the Workplace [Seksuel chikane på arbejdspladsen] (with Anette Borchorst, Aalborg University Press, 2017), and together with Petra Ahrens she has co-edited Gendering the European Parliament: Structures, Policies and Practices (Rowman & Littlefield, 2019). Her most recent publications include “Practices and Strategies of Gender Representation in Danish Political Parties: Challenges of ‘Everyday Democracy’”, co-authored with Christina Fiig and Birte Siim (published in Party Politics and the Implementation of Gender Quotas: Resisting Institutions, eds. Sabine Lang, Petra Meier and Birgit Sauer, 2022) and “The European Parliament and Gender Equality: An Analysis of Achievements Based on the Concept of Power”, co-authored with Petra Ahrens and Petra Meier (Journal of Common Market Studies, 2023). Together with Susi Meret, she is the scientific coordinator of the EU Horizon project FIERCE (Feminist Movements Revitalizing Democracy in Europe, 2022-2025). She teaches on the Global Gender Studies specialization at the master program in International Relations at Aalborg University where she focuses on gender equality in relation to EU policy-making processes and institutions; political representation; as well as transnational feminist movements and democracy.
