About
Andrea Jochmann-Döll is a self-employed researcher and consultant in the fields of gender equality and equal pay. One of her main focuses is the principle of equal pay for work of equal value and discrimination-free job evaluation. She works on the uncovering of the undervaluation of female-dominated work and professions, for example by analyzing the discriminative potentials of job evaluation schemes and grading structures in collective bargaining agreements. One of these analyses referred to the collective agreement for public employees in the Bundesländer (Jochmann-Döll, Andrea/Tondorf, Karin: Gleiches Entgelt für gleichwertige Arbeit? She co-developped three sets of tools for testing gender equality on company and sectoral level: eg-check.de (Entgeltgleichheitscheck, Equal pay check, http://www.eg-check.de) covers equal pay and contains, among other tools, a job evaluation tool for comparing female and male-dominated jobs. The second toolset deals with other aspects of gender equality at work than equal pay (gb-check, Gender Bias check, http://www.gb-check.de); the third is designed especially for the needs of small and medium enterprises (KMU-Gleichstellungscheck). As a consultant she accompanies public and private organizations in applying these toolsets.
